Removing Copyright
  • I read through the license and so forth and it doesnt list about the copyright tag. To make my website look more integrated and professional I would love to be able to remove the copyright line from the bottom of the page.

Can I do this or is this forbidden? Thanks!
  • I surely can't speak for victor, but in your situation I'd want to propose an alternative way of providing credit to the hard work of the team that provides you such delicious tools. It's not altogether appropriate to leave it unsaid that you've had help and are resting on the efforts of others. Do you have a preface or credits section to your website or think that there might be something fair and appropriate to do?
  • first, there's no copyright. it says textually: "Powered by minishowcase and cpaint" with links.

second, if you read the license, you'll notice that it lets you change almost anything as long as you don't modify the licensing.

so the answer is yes, you can modify the footer content (that is why it is in the
    /config.php
file and not hardcoded in the application), i really don't mind. actually, you can do *whatever* you want with it, as long as you include somewhere that it is based on code by me (victor zambrano) and you don't sell it afterwards (nor in its current state, of course).
  • victor, you are very cool... with about 10 minutes of wandering throught the discussion board, everything worked... i for one will not be changing the text in the footer, or i will credit you somewhere else on my website (if ever i decide to do it).
    in peace, maxxx
