if it makes you feel better, there's a solution that *almost* works but not in all browsers, and not all the times, and it is included in the addition's pipeline, so it'll come with the next major release, namely 1.0 Beta, but that all will happen when I find the time, and since I just moved to New York City, it might be in a month or so before I find free time to continue working on it.

the code is embedded in the gallery, it is not active though, and i don't have the time to guide people on where is it, though a knowledgeable javascript programmer will find it in no time (under 'permalinks').

hope someone does before i do, out there are better programmers than me, so it might end up working better than my lousy version :)

well, you can always do a dirty workaround by entering some javascript in the body tag:

to all, in the next release of minishowcase a non-robust untested version of permalinks will be released. ust activate

$settings['show_permalinks']

on your

/config/settings.php

file.

well, i really think permanet links (100% functional like name with spaces, etc) for galleries, is strong recommended for next snapshot.
Is very important can use others menu or external links direct to a specify gallery!
